I really enjoyed this book. "Lawyer for the Dog" by Lee Robinson is a very cute and fun tale of Sally, who is in charge of determining who receives the pet dog in a custody battle and divorce. Her ex-husband, Joe, is the judge, who by appointing her, involves himself back her life, whether she feels comfortable with that or not. The plot of the dog custody battle is prevalent through the story, but the true interesting parts are just Sally and Joe. It's a sweet contemporary and dramatic story, that left me laughing like a hyena and tearing up like a grandmother. I felt very caring towards the characters, even though this was kind of a silly story. I did also feel that while this story was funny, it was deeply serious.
