I love when writers incorporate their own life into their fiction work. Author Colette Dartford moved from England to America, specifically Napa Valley in California (a favourite place of mine) and has used this re-location experience as a location to base her book in. We learn that there has been the deepest of tragedies in this story, of parents losing their little girl before her time was due. Going away on a celebratory holiday seems like the last thing of interest after going through such a tragedy. But could putting their heart and soul into a restoration house project help to heal? And is their love enough to get them through life together, or will they tear apart? I'm interested to know how they deal with this.
