I was drawn in straightaway by the dynamic between Nina and Lily and their no-nonsense, no frills, blunt kind of friendship. When Lily begins to talk about her past we get to see an air of insecurity about her inherited features, which I think will make for an interesting and complex character throughout the book. I'd be excited to see how Lily develops through the story, especially her friendship with Nina.
