I am new to this author but really enjoyed the writing.
I wasn’t sure this book was for me as I am not big into celebrity. However it was a great read and kept me fully captivated from beginning to end.
The story follows Lily/Lucie as she tries to make it in the world of TV. The relationships between the characters make this book.
Plus the awful, toxic relationships found in the world of showbiz rear their heads.
The story is fast paced and really holds your attention as you are drawn deeper into the world of showbiz. We learn the skeletons on everyone’s closets and the traumas and near misses that everyone seems to have suffered.
This book really shows the dark side of fame and the insecurities that lie behind many celebrities.
It covers abuse, homophobia and a multitude of other factors.
Let’s pretend is a great read and I will definitely look out for more by this author.
