This book had a great premise and the opening chapters upheld this promise - the setting and plot sounded interesting. The cover was attractive and would certainly stand out on a shelf.
I enjoyed the preview, however, I soon found myself struggling with it. It is unlike me to give up on a book, but I had to come back to it a few times before finally finishing.
The writing style felt very forced and i felt that there was very little substance or development. It didn't help that I personally didn't like any of the characters and so found myself not interested or invested in finding out what happened to them. It felt that even the author was struggling to empathise and threw in eating disorders as a last ditch attempt to summon up some sympathy for the characters.
So, sorry, this was not for me this time. A shame as it certainly had the potential.
