Unfortunately I found this book too slow paced and a bit boring. It took me a while to get through it, and I didn’t find myself loving it like I thought I would. Which is a real shame, as this book definitely did have potential, plot wise!
If it had been quicker to get moving along, then I think it might have saved the book. But the writing was only okay, and the plot just didn’t hold up to my expectations. For a first book, it’s decent; and I’m sure others who like a slower book will enjoy it, and I’m only a small percentage of those who didn’t I imagine!
I still think the cover is great, and I imagine the author will go on to only improve with her next book. It’s just a shame I didn’t enjoy this one, as I don’t know if I’d read anything from this author again now. We shall have to see!
