I thought this book was a bit of a slow burner, and not my type of reading. It started off quite slowly, the main character Lily Thane, is an aspiring actress, who bumps into a friend, Adam, from her old acting school days and he is a rising star, but needs Lilly to act as his pretend girlfriend as he cannot come out as gay in Hollywood. After a while the book seemed to get more interesting as it turned into a murder mystery, as Adam is mysteriously found dead in a swimming pool, but was it an accident or something more sinister. Lily decides to investigate, as she think she owes it to Adam to solve the mystery. The ending was better than I thought, and I was surprised and did not see it coming. I do think the style of the writing was a bit mismatched and needed a little more work. It didn't seem to flow as well as it should, and maybe needs to work on the beginning a bit more.
