Fell flat

This book could have been so so so much better if the author had dealt with the topics involved in a better way.

Like other girls follows a main character who is trying to figure out who she is and what she wants from life. She is surrounded by characters from the LGBTQ+ community. The representation should have been amazing to see. However to me it felt like the author was throwing characters in just to say "oh look Im diverse because here is ANOTHER person that isn't straight".

It also discuses the legality of abortion in Ireland at the time but again it's mentioned as if to just have it there.

Maybe for a younger reader, this may well help someone figure out themselves and the world around them but for me I felt it fell flat and lacked depth.

I would like to see this extended to include more main characters who are also figuring themselves out.
