This modern book looks at many of the issues that we face in today's society, such as LGBTQ+ and abortion rights. Set in Ireland, this book is able to look at many of the issues that teenagers have to face today. I found the plot fascinating to read and, being a girl myself who never really fit in with other girls, fairly relateable.
As well as this, I loved the style of writing and how it reflected the main characters emotions at the time and as she got more depressed. It was interesting to see how she reacted to the thing that were going on in her life and how she slowly felt more and more alone. I thought that it was a great way of showing how easy it is to feel so alone when things going on in your life that you feel you can't really discuss with anyone and how easy it is to become so self-absorbed in your own problems that you don't realize that there are people around you who are going through similar things or who are willing to help you.
Overall, i would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a story where issues about our society are discussed in an interesting way.
