Chapter 1 is just what one needs for a thriller. It starts soft, depicting the lovely mother and the loving husband. Then it all goes down in a high-speed spiral of panic, hysteria and guilt when the little Sebastian - the son who just wanted a lollipop with the swirl - went missing.

"Four minutes. That’s all it took to steal a child.
A lollipop, a Santa suit, and two hundred forty seconds."

The second chapter happens six months later and deals with the mother's struggles to cope with her son's disappearance. The style is clear and neat, but there is no change of voice. The first and second chapter have the same style even though the mood is completely different. But this is a detail and I am sure that the plot of this novel is able to overcome the lack of different voices.
