Little Secrets begins by setting the scene perfectly. Marin is Christmas shopping with her young son Sebastian, it’s hot, it’s crowded, he’s whining, her husband is in the pub instead, the nightmare that all us parents have been through. Trying juggle shopping, buying food and answering her husbands texts she has to let go of his hand briefly. And that’s all the time it takes for Sebastian to vanish.
The next part is so well written I felt like I was there with Marin, knowing that heart sinking feeling when you can’t find your child. Worry turns to fear then anger at herself but it seems Sebastian has been snatched by a man dressed as Santa.
The story then skips on 16 months and I can’t wait to see what happens next. It seems like there will be secrets and lots of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing.
