This was a really dark thriller, that moved along at a really good pace and really sucked me in.....I stayed up far too late reading it!
Marin's world is turned upside down when her son Sebastien is taken from her just before Christmas in a crowded market. Over a year later, her grief stricken existance is rocked again when the PI she hired to try and find her son tells her that her husband Derek is having an affair. The path Marin takes turns increasingly dark, and the writing is great in showing how illogically people can act when they are in a state of grief.
The story is told from both the perspective of Marin, and from Dereks lover, and both chracters are really well developed. The other characters, particularly Sal also add much to the overall story.
Great book, really enjoyed it.
