It seems as though the glut of psychological thrillers being published every week has become boring with the same old predictable story lines. Little Secrets has blown that theory clean away! What a great story, well written and with an unpredictable ending.
I always enjoy reading about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Marin and Derek are millionaires with everything you could possibly wish for, including Sebastian, a delightful and precious 4 year old son who was born as a result of their final round of IVF. Sebastian is abducted by somebody in a Santa Claus outfit and Marin and Derek’s lives are blown apart. The story takes place 15 months later when Marin is barely functioning despite therapy and alcohol support. Derek has been having an affair for the last six months with an art student.
This story was so well crafted that it’s hard to believe Jennifer Hillier’s statement that she doesn’t outline her stories in advance and is often surprised and scared by the direction a story takes.
