It had potential, but it just dragged at times

I am really undecided about this book; at times it felt like there was a decent story in there and at other times it just seemed to drag.
The premise of the book is that Marin, a successful and wealthy hair stylist to the rich and famous has lost her young son, Sebastian. He was taken whilst they were out shopping before Christmas, and a year later he hasn't been found and Marin is struggling to cope - her seemingly perfect life has completely fallen apart.
Marin hires a Private Investigator to try and find out what happened to her son, but instead she discovers that Marin's husband, Derek, is having an affair with someone about half his age. This discovery pushes Marin down avenues that she never imagined she would venture...
