This absolutely is a thriller. You can begin to piece together things that seem slightly off probably half way through but when your suspicions are confirmed you really can't put the book down until you reach the end.

Possible Spoilers!
I disliked Derek very much at the beginning of the book, as I believe you are supposed to as a reader, he's supposed to be the enemy so you cant see the real enemy is Marin's shoulder to cry on the whole way through the book (Sal). I was really disappointed when it was revealed that he was behind all of the terrible things happening to both Marin and Derek, I rooted for him at the beginning but I can see that this was done by the author to pull the wool over both the reader and the couple in the books eyes simultaneously so you feel the injustice and it's reveal when they do.

I loved the way Marin's experience was described, that seems odd but it was real, there was a no frills approach which really made her see, more of a real person. Although I did feel there was a real focus on Instagram in the story? Maybe this is just a personal thing but as I'm not an avid user and feel as though my friends and I aren't really as a group (I'm 22). The repeated mention of it being such a part of McKenzie's life seemed a little off/odd to me and I couldn't really relate to her as a result and she felt less real and built as a character.

Thank god the ending was a happy one (sort of) because I think I'd still have been in a heap if it wasn't. This is a book I'd definitely recommend for its twists and turns that meant I just couldn't put it down.
