It took me a while to get into this book, but enjoyed it very much once it picked up pace. I struggled to relate to Marin initially, I was convinced it was a protagonist turned antagonist story for a long time and that was the reason I couldn't warm to her. However once all the threads of the story came together, I was very much invested in the conclusion of the book. I did not see the plot twist coming straight away either, which is always a bonus for me.

I very much enjoyed the psychological element to the story, Marin's emotional and mental state shifts dramatically several times throughout the book and this is well portrayed by the author without sugar coating. I found this to be a welcome edition to the storytelling and added flesh to the character.

Overall, this a good read for those who enjoy a slow building suspense novel that'll have you hooked by the end.
