I've felt a bit hit and miss with thrillers recently due to a couple of meh books, but this was a wonderfully twisty read.

Normally I give a synopsis in my reviews but I do feel that it gives too much of this book away. What I will say is that this follows Marin, a famous hairstylist, after the disappearance of her four-year-old son. That's all you need to know going in!

This was so twisty and filled to the brim with secrets/deception. For a bit, I was trying to figure out where the narrative was going, but all of a sudden it hit me and had me shouting NOOO WAYYY out loud. So good!! In terms of the actual plot itself, there was actually nothing brand-new or unique. Everything was just well written enough to keep hold of your attention. I really liked Marin as the main character. She was prepared to go to some pretty drastic measures to get what she wanted and overall came across as a badass. The two points of view worked well together as they were offering two completely polar opposites, whilst also clearly trying to lay out why you should be on team Marin. I will admit that I think that things got a little lost at the end. For such a twisty book I was prepared for a more ambiguous ending as opposed to something so tidy.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in a couple of days. Would definitely recommend it!
