This one surprised me! I don’t quite know why as I’ve been reading lots of excellent reviews of it lately but I was expecting so much less than what I got! It really packed a punch!
First of all, this one is really rooted in reality. The devastating storyline including the Christmas shopping (a real riot) and the child going missing - it felt as if it could really happen to anyone! This is a necessity of a domestic thriller for me, I need something that isn’t too far fetched. That isn’t to say this book isn’t surprising - it sure isn’t predictable so don’t worry about that, it’s just utterly superb. I am shocked that I haven’t heard of Jeniffer Hillier before! I can’t wait to read whatever comes next!
