Live a little is based on a story of 2 sisters, Lottie & Tina who set out on an emotional road trip across the US a couple of weeks before Lottie’s wedding, starting in San Francisco travelling through to Monument Valley, to lay their older sister Mia’s ashes to rest.

Lottie is the quieter one of the 2 sisters, never taking chances or risks, level headed, cautious and soon to be wed to Dean, a teacher, equally as sensible as Lottie.
Tina on the other hand is quite the opposite of Lottie. Ready to party, not afraid to take chances or risks but doesn’t understand how Lottie is so sure that she wants to settle down and marry Dean. So during this trip she sets her sister a series of challenges to encourage Lottie to be more carefree and ensure that Dean is right for her.

As children the 3 sisters were very close. But Lottie and Tina have drifted apart since Mia’s death, and they both realise how little they now know each other. This road trip is helping them to reconnect.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I have not read anything else by this author before but I did enjoy her writing style. Although an emotional story I found this to be an easy summer read.
