We've all watched Road Trip. This is an updated version but instead of four horny students in their late teens we have 2 sisters of about 40. In both cases the protagonists are looking for adventure but not exactly the same kind. Here we have Tina, a carefree action junkie, who is trying to give her straight laced sister, Lottie, a shake up a few weeks before marrying her boyfriend of 10 years. They meet an interesting range of people along the way, get into some tricky situations and face some seemingly impossible dilemmas which may or may not prove complete chargers of life as they know it. Inevitably each sister's completely different personality traits start to rub off on one another leaving a vast array of results as a consequence. The book is overall light hearted and quite an easy, pleasant read. It gets increasingly better as it progresses and is actually a pageturner at certain points. The pleasant mood is peppered with a few 'bumps in the road' which mainly involve tension, suspense and an occasional slither of tragedy. An ideal companion for whatever small bit of summer we have left. For those in the know, I would hands down nominate Weezer to write the soundtrack, their upbeat, fuzzy music being a perfect match
