I have read the other books by madeleine reiss and have always enjoyed them so I was keen to see if this one lived up to the others. Luckily it did! I love any books which have an element of travel involved in the story so when I knew it was about an American road trip I had to have it. The inspiration for the story comes from a diary that madeleine kept of her own road trip and I feel that this really comes across in the writing and descriptions. The main characters are very likeable and fun and draw you in straight away , they are very different but compliment each other. The book is funny and warm yet is also emotional and has some added depth to just a simple chick lit story. It is the perfect summer / holiday read and the perfect escapism . The bright cover instantly attracted me to it. thank you readers first for this book, I enjoyed it!
