I’m not a fan of non fiction however I adored this, the writing style was really warm and approachable and the quirks of the dogs and owners (and sometimes walkers) were really amusing. The almost random decision of Kate to leave her antiques job and decide to be a dog walker especially considering her boyfriends fear of dogs looked like a non starter thanks to an incident with a much loved ball and the reality of getting new new business off the ground was wryly documented. There were great emotional elements too and the impact the dogs had of their owners were heartwarming. Kate managed to get a good balance between writing about her personal life and that of the business and varied dogs whose personalities shone through. This is a great read for dog lovers but that’s not a compulsory requirement as Kate has succeeded at making this a lighthearted read for anyone and it’s so easy to either dip in and out or read in one sitting.
