Other reviewers have said that it's difficult to remember this is a nonfiction book because of the characters Kate writes about, and this is exactly true; a melting pot of different people and dogs that warm your heart and make you realize how insane life can be, from the wealthy and popular "Principle" and Dolly to Sarah and Stanley. I absolutely forgot about the first few chapters and wished she had left her job with a little more wow!
However, bear in mind that the book is about the dogs, not her.
