The writing style is fairly easy and relaxed. The main character, Kate, comes across as very likeable and a straight forward person. She changes her working life completely when she starts her own dog walking business. We get to know about the real struggles of starting your own business, having staff and dealing with clients, who tend to be a lot more demanding than the dogs themselves.
The book takes us through the years, introducing various dogs, their owners sometimes quirky wants and some of the dog walkers.
Interwoven are snippets of Kate’s childhood and her personal life.
The book is very funny in places, but also brings across to the reader the ups and downs of owning your own business. There is a good mix of laughter and also wisdom. I thought the book would be just funny dog stories, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a lot more depth. I would recommend this book not just to dog lovers. It is thought provoking and let’s you laugh out loud.
