This was a lovely read that was ideally suited for dipping into for an hour or so before bedtime. Kate MacDougall showed a great insight into the characteristics of the dogs she encountered along with their walkers and their owners. The interaction depicted between all three groups was entertaining and so easy to read. I enjoyed all the amusing anecdotes and especially appreciated the fact that the progress of some dogs were revisited later on. The descriptive writing made both two and four legged characters come alive and I felt I got to know them all. Alongside these Kate MacDougall also shared elements of her own personal life with touching detail.
If you've ever known the love of a dog, you'll really enjoy this book, and realise that it's not just you who is guilty of sometimes not giving your dog enough attention or, at other times, being so over the top with affection for your four legged friend.
