The main character is Penny and she seems headstrong to want to try and find a new life for herself on the sunshine island of Corfu. But she has never been there before - only read about it - in all places bur a book about The Durrells who were a family who moved to the island and it is were Gerald Durrell got his love of animals from before he later in life set in the zoo in Jersey. Having seen the tv series I am wanting to read this book to see if she encounters some of the problems that the Durrells did back in their day and to find out whether Penny overcomes the language barrier and gats along with the people of Corfu
