I like this book a lot already!
It begins in sad circumstances, with Penny’s terminally ill father in a hospice, where Penny spends a lot of time reading his favourite book to him.
When we meet Penny again six months later, she has split up with her fiancé Bruce and is travelling to Corfu, ready to retrace the steps and travels of the Durrells.
I love the cover of this book, it is simple and beautiful.
The story has already got me hooked, the description of the setting is perfect - just enough to picture it without going overboard. I’ve never been to Corfu, but while I’m reading this I feel like I could be there! I can’t wait to read more.
