I was intrigued about this book and how it would fit in with what I knew of the Durrells. It was a clever idea and didn't disappoint. Penny managed to see the places she had read about and fitted in well with the local community, which had interesting characters, Tess, little Theo and Nic and Dimitris, not forgetting the tour guides, Guyana Rich, whose stories also unfolded in the book. All the characters were likeable, apart from Bruce, Penny's ex fiancee.

It was a great Summer read as you could feel the warmth of Corfu coming through the story. I have never visited the island but it certainly made me feel that I would like to visit and take this book with me, so that all the places would come to life.

The only disappointment I felt was the end of the story. It seemed to end rather abruptly and I felt that another chapter was needed to tie up a few loose ends. Maybe even a sequel would be welcome.
