I really struggled with this one I found it really hard to buy into penny as a character and I didn’t know the background of the Durrells story which is set in Corfu like this book is. The start was odd as seemingly it all goes wrong for penny and she has her dad and relationship End at the same time. It feels like she’s gone to Corfu to fulfill some long held wish of her fathers and meets a bunch of random people along the way all looking for different things from their own visits to Corfu. I picked this up and put it down repeatedly which is unusual and I didn’t fully understand the character connections and why. It’s a shame because it looked a good read from the first look I think I just found it slow to get into and there was a lot of descriptions which shows the author has a good knowledge of the places penny visits but was totally lost on me. Not one I was a big fan of to bed honest
