I was looking forward to reading this this summer as the front cover just made me absolutely desperate to go on holiday and not being able to I wanted to live it through the book! I have to say that I haven’t actually heard of or watched The Durrels so in terms of that aspect to it I didn’t really get it or relate to it! I did engage with the characters though and found them really loveable and relatable. I found the plot really engaging too although at times it was a little slow, perhaps towards the end I started to get a little bored. Saying that, I would absolutely read another novel by this author and haven’t read anything by them before! All in all I would give this a good 5 stars and would recommend this to anyone that wanted to read it! A great, engaging summer holiday novel is how I would sum it up! Especially for someone who loves Greek islands!
