There is no doubt that this book had succeeded in having a treasure trove of interesting, well rounded characters whom a reader can easily see themselves in. Something aided through the way that the locations used within the book are described,it really feels like you are seeing them for yourself.

But the downfall of this specific literary choice is that it does unfortunately feel a lot like being made to read a tourist brochure or a stray travel pamphlet, the actual story ends up taking a backseat place when compared to the amount of time the author dedicates purely to setting out surroundings that may only be relevant for a couple of pages before the whole cycle begins again for wherever the characters have moved to next.

Because of these descriptions I felt as if the pace could become very sluggish at times or that I would lose the point of certain scenes entirely. It definitely needed kicking up a notch pace wise to avoid this.

In short , a decent book but a couple glaring flaws that spoiled the reading experience.
