As a teenager, I can see how people would relate. There's a mention of parties, parent problems, person issues as well as school and society's expectations. There is also a small mention of mental health when speaking about wanting to go home but not being able to and not being able to stop the tears when they're falling.
This will be relatable as at some point everyone has had a struggle in their lives and this books covers a lot of possibilities very well which means it will relate to a larger audience. It is very easy and intriguing to be in the mind of Caraway, the main female character, as she has a lot of expectations to meet and is living trapped in her own body. This could relate to people with mental illnesses, overwhelming thoughts, people who feel lost or transgender. The simple explanation as to what Car thinks like is just detailed enough so that it could he interpreted differently be people who live in different situations.
