I thought that it was a perfect mix of loss and love. It was truly heartbreaking and raw that it made me only want to root for Carrie's happiness all the way through. It's difficult to write something as traumatic and as serious as the death of a love one, but in this book that loss is balanced out with the support and care Carrie has around her. The book is very melancholy but doesn't shy away from having a happy moment to help humanize the story. I think that when you loss someone close it's not always just sadness. It's anger, it's pain and the need to help fill the void that that person left. So when Carrie turns to drugs and alcohol, it seems so real and so raw. She's grieving in an unhealthy way but as the story goes on, she finds ways to get better. She's healing, and while she is not fully okay by the end, she is better and that is always good. I really enjoyed this book, it made me feel...
