As this is Samira's first novel, I am absolutely obsessed with it. Love Hate and Other Filters first seems like a YA romance book but along the way a terrorist attack occurs in a different city by a terrorist with the same last name as her. This book is marketed as a YA contemporary about Islamophobia.
This book was very enlightening to read as it showed you not only what life in America as a teenager is, but also an Indian-Muslim in America. It shows you the struggles, choices and sacrifices you have to make before you reach adulthood.
Personally, I am very glad this is the first book I have read in 2018 as it is the first book I have read that had a more deeper mention of religion it. I have really enjoyed it and I recommend anybody who likes YA romance with a bit of a twist to read it!
