Love, Hate and Other Filters starts with our protagonist Maya being dragged to another Indian Wedding. From the outset you can sense her desire to break free from the cultural traditions of Arrange marriages and successful careers of Doctor or Lawyer. Maya wants to make films and within this first chapter you hear her talk so much about this love.
There is also a beginning of a potential budding romance between her and another character which I think broke up nicely the description of the wedding and the cultural traditions.
The author is inspiring and her writing style is unique and easy to read. The story itself shows great insight into the truth of arranged marriages. I would recommend this book to young adults as it has some mature themes. Overall I think this book is really good and the plot is easy to follow yet a complex story line.
