From the first few pages of this book, you could really feel the expectations of an Indian family for their daughter and how the daughter wants to rebel these expectations. The book was written in such a way that it highlighted these generational differences in a comedic way and a relaxed way. I really enjoyed the style of writing and already after reading the first two chapters, I felt part of their lives and I felt part of the dilemma of who you should be in life - the person that your culture expects or the person that you really want but goes against the "norm".
I liked the easy reading style and got into the book and characters really quickly. I wanted to continue reading as the descriptive portrayal of the characters and the environment at the start (the friends wedding) was very visual for me and the authors way of describing the colours, the traditions, the dresses, drew me in. From what I have read, I would recommend this book.
