This is a very promising start!
The writing style is fluid and well paced.
The characters seem interesting so far. Maya is typical of so many young adults who have to fight against their parents wishes to do what’s right for them. Walking that fine line between finding her own identity and becoming the daughter her parents want and expect her to be.
I also liked the banter between Maya and Kareem and I’m interested to see how that develops.
The snippets we got from the bombers point of view are brief but disturbing and hopefully the story will continue to include these to allow us an insight into why he performs this atrocity.
Overall I think this is a book I would pick up based on the important subject it covers.
