SPOILERS AHEAD!

I had very mixed feelings going into this book as racism is a massive issue in the world still to this day and it doesn't sit well with me.

Firstly I wanted to speak about the book on a romantic/fluffy side. I adored Maya so much. She's the cute, shy, awkward kind of person you would expect from the YA romance genre and I loved everything about her. The whole time I was screaming PLEASE JUST KISS HER PHIL PLEASE and was super happy when they eventually did. The build up was so much and so worth the wait!

I don't really know much about religions and how they live with their beliefs etc but it did frustrate me a little bit when Mayas parents weren't very open to her life choices. I understand as a parent living in a country that has a lot of attacks on their religion you would worry a lot but I felt a little like Maya felt trapped and she couldn't live her life the way she wanted to just like her parents did at her age which led Maya to hide most of her decisions which in turn made it even worse for her. I was super happy to see that at the end of the book her parents were making an effort with Maya to get back on good terms.

Can we please just ship Phaya! <3 Absolutely adorable!
