Motherhood is never easy and for Lucy who has a four year old son, Stan, with behavioural difficulties and a baby son, Jack, it can be even more challenging. Lucy is a cellist and performs along with her two friends, Jen and Charlie, but being a mother definitely has to take precedence. The sad reality of being a mother is that there isn't a lot of time left in a mother's life for self care so when her first engagement since having her second child comes along, Lucy finds herself totally unprepared and, a common horror, unable to fit into any smart clothes. Her friends try to help and take her out to buy new underwear but the day doesn't go to plan. A familiar story for every mother who has ever tried to have a day out with children.
