This book was a delight! It was funny and poignant and so relatable (maybe not the rock star lifestyle but the general stress of being a mummy).

Lucy is a professional cellist who has gone from travelling at short notice for gigs/concerts, to being a stay at home mum of two. Her husband Ed continues to live the rock star lifestyle however.

M is for mummy explores what it means to change your identity from individual to mother. It also looks at the difficulties and joys of parenting a child with autism. I loved the way this balance was met, showing the hardships but also the joys of parenting a child with different needs to the norm.

It struck a chord with me about how relationships suddenly need work after children, and there is an almost constant battle for who is the most tired/working the hardest/changed the most.

A great debut which I read in 24 hours. Fun and poignant all at once.
