I was immediately gripped by this book - it's funny, empathetic and real - a book that I devoured in less than a week.

Lucy is a Mum of two, who previously had an exciting, successful career - as her rock-star husband still does - and a svelte waist - now she eats Doritos for breakfast and is covered in baby vomit, whilst her son repetitively recites facts about the human body.

Although I'm not a mother myself, the book enabled me to put myself in Lucy's shoes and have an insight into, not only the pressures of having two young children, but having two young children and one of them being autistic.

Yes, it's funny, yes, it will make you laugh out loud, but it's also a very real modern interpretation of the emotional, psychological and physical challenges of being a mother, but also being a mother who knows she has an autistic child and not getting the support she needs.

It doesn't matter whether you're a mother or not, this truly is worth a read!
