‘M is for Mummy’ is the excellent debut book by Katy Cox. It highlights the complexity of modern life as a mum to two young children, one of which has additional needs. It is very funny in places and very poignant in others. It should come with a warning for anyone reading it on public transport! I completely, and without expectation, laughed out loud on several occasions. It is raw, real and reflective of the juggling and challenges many parents face on a daily basis. It tackles family, friendship, financial and career decisions in a relatable and down to earth writing style.
The highs and lows may make you laugh and may make you cry as I did but overall this is a very good read that I would highly recommend. I will certainly look out in anticipation for the author’s next book.
