I hadn't heard of this author before, so wasn't sure what to expect. But reading the blurb I saw that it was about autism, and this caught my eye, as a mother to 4 autistic daughters I was keen to read all about another mothers perspective. The book is written so well and is a fantastic read, with so many relatable pieces in it, I can definitely recommend reading it. I love the fact that before having children and getting married, Lucy was an independant and talented musician, but add marriage and children into the mix and it suddendly makes your career a back burner and trying to juggle motherhood and an autistic child in the mix, can cause stress as well. I think the author manages to catch the highs and lows of parenting, and in such a way that readers can feel sorry for Lucy, but laugh with her as well it is such a truely heartwarming story that makes you want to laugh and cry.
