I really enjoy reading books based on family life with young children as I'm currently at that stage so can relate to a lot of what the author is writingabout. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Lucy, her husband Ed and their two children Stanley and Jack. What sets it apart from other books in the genre is that Stanley is autistic so we are given an insight into life with an autistic child. Lucy and Ed are both professional musicians so are juggling family life alongside a non traditional working structure.

I managed to read this in a couple of days. I found it to be a lighthearted (yet heartbreaking when Lucy is doing her best for Stanley) funny read. I did get annoyed when Ed swanned off on tour and wasn't in contact with Lucy for 3 weeks. I understand that it was part of his character but I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Lucy just let it slide that she couldn't get in contact with him when, at one point, she desperately wanted to talk to him.
