Katy Cox writes about a situation she knows well from her own experiences. In M is for Mummy the main character, Lucy, has a toddler, Stan, who has many challenging aspects to his behaviour. She also has a young baby, Jack, and her husband, Ed, isn't as helpful as she would ideally wish. Lucy does however have tremendous support from her friends, Jen and Charlie, and her family although she lives in London and her family are in Wales. Both Ed and Lucy are professional musicians, as are Jen and Charles. While Ed's career seems to be going from strength to strength Lucy despairs that she'll ever get her career back on track although Jen and Charles push her to keep going. Many difficult and stressful situation occur with Stan that Lucy finds hard to deal with however she perseveres and finds a way to cope. Katy Cox is a professional musician with two autistic children so writes with her accumulated knowledge and insight.
