In all honesty, I expected this book to be a bit clichéd- the Mum would drink too much wine and moan about her children being hard work blah blah etc etc, but boy was I wrong. It was HILARIOUS and a whole league above all the other mumsy books.
My little one is a handful and I could really relate to some of Stan's quirks and behaviours. As well as this, I really related to the knackered mum trying to hold on to a little bit of normality and sanity by going to work when she is the only one holding the shit show together!
It was all pretty smile worthy, but it's not very often a book makes me fully belly laugh and then giggle for ages after... the description of the nervous poo dilemma in the single toilet of the fancy venue was what did it!
I've recommended it to one friend and passed my copy on to another. May not appeal to others who arent mothers to tricky little patience testers, but I thought it was definitely better than any other modern mum book I've read!
