Right from the very first line I was completely hooked. It is all the things that mums have felt and said whilst muddling through the day to day perils of raising children. The main character is funny in her brutally honest assessment of herself and adjusting to being a mum the second time round - and some of her descriptions of events ensue the kind of laugh out loud reactions that gain you odd stares from other people. I particularly liked the reference to the mum judgement you get (or you think that you get) from all the other mothers that seem to be getting it just right. I definitely would read the rest of this book as it was such an easy read and funny to boot.
I completely sympathised when a tantrum stopped her from enjoying a full on girly day out with her friends - we've all been there! If your looking for some light hearted reading that touches on the real then this is definitely it!
