I was impressed by this first impression. Despite me being very interested in these themes I've not actually read a book about a fortune teller before. This extract is very well written. The author has set the scene and introduced a number of colourful characters. It seems like it will be an interesting read. Unfortunately I didn't like the front cover - maybe it will make more sense after reading the story. But I definitely judged this book by its cover. I unfortunately would never have picked this book up off the shelf, which would have been a shame.
