Intriguing premise and a fascinating main character

I really enjoyed the opening pages of this book. The two storylines being established worked well together and I was keen to see the impact Madame Burova has on the family we are introduced to. She seems like a really intriguing character with a lot to tell. I also liked the music references in the 70s timeline to set the story in time.
I must add that the cover of this book is so beautiful, it instantly caught my eye.
