An interesting story, although I felt that several issues were left hanging and not resolved at the end. Several characters had stories at the start but then they faded out.

This book didn't quite click, there wee plenty of interesing characters introduced but you were never given the chance to get to know them.
Set in the present day with flashbacks to a 1970s holiday park, it’s a very atmospheric book with a cast of eccentric and lovingly described characters (both human and canine). Ruth Hogan is billed as “The Queen of Up-Lit” on the back of this book, I guess that means the kind of feel good fiction which doesn’t challenge the reader too much and generally gives them what they want at the end. I’d certainly agree that this book fits that bill, perfect for a bit of escapism on a gloomy wet (Dry) January day in a dark and scary world but equally fitting for a hot sunny day in the garden or on the beach.
